  1. 1)It expands international trade which brought about destruction of the environment so as to satisfy rising demand for goods.

    2)No. Other local elements also contribute to deforestation.

    3)The effectiveness of the UN is limited by countries' unwillingness and inability to act.

    4)China benefits economically by being the manufacturing hub of the world.

    5)Some other countries have weaker and less sophisticated environmental laws, making it easier for companies to conduct their operations.
